Nature Photography: Seeing Kiawah
Through a Photographers Eye
Jamie Rood is the manager of Kiawah's Heron Park Center and nature photographer for the Kiawah Island Resort. She has been a professional photographer for 12 years, and for the past four years has introduced hundreds of island guests to photographing on Kiawah.
Her work has appeared on the Animal Planet, the Weather Channel, and in numerous newspapers, magazines and web sites. She has also had photos in commercial publications for the Kiawah Island Golf Resort and produced the signature photograph for the 5th annual Bobcat Ball of the Kiawah Island Nature Conservancy.
Her talk will include shots she has taken on Kiawah, tips on where and how to get the great shots, practical "in the field" techniques, and suggestions for making the composition interesting.
October Photo Shoot: At a later date, Jamie will lead a van tour of the island with stops for shooting and plenty of helpful hints. This will be followed by a meeting to share and evaluate photos. Information will be available to members by email as soon as the dates are set.
